Faraday Elevator was built on legacy, one that began with Michael Francis Todd, a U.S. Navy veteran who helped install the original elevators at the World Trade Center and went on to found one of New York’s most respected elevator companies. Guided by integrity, craftsmanship, and care for his people, Michael became a legend in the trade until passing in 2025.
His son, Christopher Todd, grew up immersed in that world. After studying electrical engineering and earning his MBA, Chris spent over 30 years in the elevator industry — modernizing elevators in more than ten countries, including top-secret Department of Defense sites across Europe and Asia. He later led operations in New York City, served as president of his family’s company, and oversaw super high-rise projects including the new World Trade Center for one of the major multinational elevator companies.
Chris also created and built one of the only employee owned elevator companies in the USA. While in college Chris was inspired by the scientist Michael Faraday, whose discoveries in electromagnetism redefined innovation, Chris founded Faraday Elevator as a bridge between tradition and technology.
The company stands as both a tribute to his father’s legacy and a commitment to the next generation of excellence — where integrity, innovation, and precision elevate everything we do.
